"All hail IHOP! a refuge in times of…"
IHOP has become my refuge in times of despair and sorrow, when lesser restaurants psychotically demand I keep my face covered EXCEPT when it's the actual moment I must take a bite of food, or a sip of drink, and if it isn't, I'd better keep that muzz--I mean mask on, or "we can't serve you!"
"No, that's incorrect," I finally told this babe, quite coldly.
"What's incorrect," she said rather nervously, seeming to look closely to see if I had some weapon I was going to whip out to make my point better.
"You CAN serve me, you just WON'T serve me, without the muzz--mask." It's "we won't serve you," not "we can't serve you," I informed her haughtily.
She took this to mean "F you," apparently, by her expression, which I thought was only right, since that was how I had taken "We can't serve you," and why wouldn't I? I mean, how...cold? callous? alienating? a statement is THAT, I ask you?
If I ever had a moment of feeling that I might actually "go postal," if you catch my drift---it was the last time I heard words to that effect, being said to ME, a very good customer, but now somehow demoted and involuntarily devolved into a one-celled animal whose only relevant appendage was my muz---mask, and otherwise, I better not let the door hit me in the gluteus maximus on my way out!
So, I didn't. I will miss that restaurant.
But I will console myself with IHOP, because IHOP is staffed by human beings, rather than body-snatched pod people who at any moment will turn around on me and give that horrifying screech a' la Donald Sutherland, if they detect a slippage of my muzz---well you know.
IHOP has the best pancakes, because they're made with buttermilk, and it does make quite the difference. They also have the only edible blueberry syrup I've ever run across (in my journeys across America seeking syrups up hill and down dale), and they also play the best Muzakmusic in town. I mean, it's 80's, it's rock, it's Beatles, it's Pink Floyd Learning to Fly at 10am Sunday morning!
and it's at the right volume. Am I beginning to sound slavishly happy? Not yet? Let me keep on then...
It's true I eat there a lot, because I'm one of those people that when I like a certain thing to eat, I will eat it every time I go out, for years, or until I get tired of it, whichever happens. But it's just very comfortable, and they know what to bring to drink when I get there, and they're just the nicest.
During this recent...Debacle? Outrage? Hysterical overreaction?, there was that sort of suspended in disbelief period where nobody knew what to do, and then IHOP was the first place that DARED to allow customers back into the restaurant to pick up their carry-out-only food, and I appreciated that a LOT, because I was really weirded out, and these places were making it even worse by suddenly acting as if I had cooties! It's all that stupid governor's fault, but I digress.
Then they were among the first, if not THE first, to actually have us come eat there again. They were the first to give us back our silverware, and they were never Mask Nazis, and always SO nice, even while being forced to wear their own muzz---I mean masks! 24/7, running around waiting tables! OMG!!
The latest was when the dipsh*t governor decided to put us in a "pause" (don't you love the innocuous names they come up with when they're destroying your lives), so he decreed that now, restaurants needed to have you make a reservation first, even if there was nobody in there. Churches needed reservations too, and still do, and that's totally unforgiveable, even Confession won't help them there, but I digress.
So I sat down in the mostly empty place, and hollered at them that I needed a reservation, table for one, and we were laughing, because it's so stupid. They're still doing this reservation thing--!--two weeks later. I wish I owned a business so I could defy the governor in a respectable yet violent way he would truly appreciate...but I digress.
Thank you, IHOP, because for many years you have unfailingly given me great meals, comfy atmosphere, convenient locations, and ...constancy and reassurance that the world is still here. I feel so terribly, terribly sorry for businesses, and those who work in them (when they're allowed by Caesar) that I have been heedlessly overtipping the servers AND LOVING IT, because it's what I can do for them, and it makes me feel somewhat better, and seems to do the same for them, so that's good for me, and I recommend it to everyone else, as well. Thanks IHOP, I'll be back, always.

"We appreciate the hard working men and…"
We appreciate the hard working men and women here in Olathe Kansas .
Many of us who are in delivery such as UPS , Amazon , and Hospital workers in the area rely on a place like IHOP to keep us alert behind the wheel while we have an Establishment that services hard working American's the ONLY ONE left due to harsh mandates that's 24 hrs a day with Good food and Coffee.
As a customer I seen many people from younger people all needing what IHOP has to offer I seen a small group of young high schoolers in fellowship smiling and laughing while pouring on the syrup thick.
It made me realize how important having a place like IHOP OPEN is for these people to fellowship and see their loved ones and friends having at least one brave Establishment willing to bring some normalcy into the lives of those who visited on the night that I also needed a break from being in the house too much .
The impact of being locked down for a teen can be as harmful if not more harmful as suicides from isolation of young people is on the rise. So it was a blessing to see smiles on the faces of these people .
It also made me see American's should be able to decide for themselves if they want to stay home fine .....but for some such as these young people it is equally dangerous to take away the social needs of good conversation and company. Many need this break from being locked up or locked down in thier homes.
I say enough with the in justice of big government and 2 faced politicians telling the same people what we can or can not do. We the People make American Great it's the PEOPLE OF THIS GREAT NATION..... ENOUGH OF being told to stay at home and to close your dreams of a small or even big business owner down ALL while the ELECTED OFFICIALS & leaders WE put in office and pay for their salary in hard earned taxes taken from OUR checks or paid for by the taxes of the same Establishments they destroy with the overreaching agenda who are they to tell us what we need to do ALL WHILE secretly SLIPPING off into the night of some of the most expensive restaurant's in the world.
Which will stay open cause our Law makers need a place to socialize and eat as well at 300 to 500 a plate thier doors swing wide open for the elites.
I'm not against mask ....I'm against government politicizing covid for political gain.
The truth is only a vaccine will help. I'm not even a Trump supporter but in the end he is right everyone is wearing a mask yet we are at RECORD BREAK OUT NUMBERS .
YET when no one wore a mask it wasn't as bad. Or according to the news timely reporting of numbers . Or are those numbers a bunch or B.S ? I know politicians never lie . Of course they are correct.
And at the end of the day the virus will do what it wants to do. So as Trump suggested ONLY A vaccine will stop a virus not a sneeze guard.
So while the government shuts the restaurants doors that's services blue collar working American's place of choice to eat.
The exquisite 300 a plate restaurants thrive cause our governors and law makers need a place to sneak off into the night BEFORE giving a big speech of a stay at home order .
AMERICAN'S CAN DECIDE for themselves the one who decides should be YOU!!!. After all it's WE the people who built this Great country and keep it going.
God Bless ....

"IHOP in Bethlehem"
IHOP in Bethlehem, GA is SUPER FANTASTIC!!!! The employees are extremely respectful and nice, every time I visit there and they have even went out of their way to make me happy and special! I have not ever ate inside but I do pick up my orders inside and one night a couple of teenagers who were getting ready for closing, told me I needed to come in and eat sometime, and I kinda shrugged and said But I don’t want to eat alone - and without thought the pair said “We will eat with you, ma’am you don’t have to sit alone we would be happy to join you!”
In this day and time, the gaps and separations between adults and teenagers is so heartbreaking, but to have these empathetic teens, working, going to high school, juggling all that they do, but still found a moment to make me feel so honored and so happy inside- I will remember forever!!! They may have an outsider look to the employees but do not judge, they have hearts, they are people and they do their jobs and beyond - IM A SUPER FAN AND I LIVE IHOP!!!!!!!!
